It is through the generosity and tireless energy
of our lay leadership that the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is
able to succeed in providing critical financial support to our beneficiary
agencies and organizations. Without the support of our volunteer leadership,
we would not be able to raise or disseminate the funds for the vital human
services that save lives or for the educational and enrichment opportunities
that enhance the quality of Jewish life here in Seattle and around the
world.
Ten standing committees and dozens of sub-committees carry
out the work of the Jewish Federation. The standing committees include:
Executive Committee, Community Campaign, External Affairs, Finance and
Administration, Jewish Community Endowment Fund, Jewish Education Council,
JT News, Planning and Allocations, Women's Division, and Young Leadership
Division.
All of these committees need community members to participate.
If you have a strength or a particular area of expertise which you would
like to share with our Jewish community, please do not hesitate to contact
us. Our Community and Leadership Development Director is available to
meet with you and develop a personal volunteer plan for you.
The Federation hosts a myriad of events, from fundraising
dinners, outreach and educational events, phone-a-thons and social events.
There is always an opportunity for you to lend a helping hand by volunteering
for a committee. There are often sub-committees that handle such items
as; event budgets; decorations; sponsorship and donations; and publicity
and PR. If you so desire, eventually you may be asked to chair or co-chair
an event.
If you are interested in joining any of these committees,
or to get more information please fill out our Sign-Up
reply form and let us know your areas of interest.
Or please email externalaffairs@jewishinseattle.org
