Major Gifts Dinner, Monday, September 15th at McCaw Hall
at Seattle Center
Please
join us for an evening of delicious food and a thought-provoking
address at Seattle's newest performance venue!
Just recently opened on June 28th, McCaw Hall, the new home

with the great American opera houses. Our Major Gifts Dinner
will be highlighted by a talk by Rabbi David Saperstein,
Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism,
a dynamic speaker and expert in his field. The Washington
Post recently described Rabbi Saperstein as the "quintessential
religious lobbyist on Capitol Hill".

(JDC) in Israel, speaks to Federation
leadership
Arnon Mantver, the Director General of the American Jewish
Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) in Israel, spoke to a
group of Federation leadership on the morning of August 8,
2003.
Mr. Mantver discussed the current political and economic situation in Israel.
He claimed that Israelis are very happy and relieved about the current cease-fire
after more than two years of intifida. Most Israelis, he claimed, are cautiously
optimistic about future prospects for peace. He said that he believes that Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon is the right person to be negotiating with the Palestinian
leadership, as he has the credibility with the Israeli right wing to obtain their
approval for the process. READ
