Seattle Receives a Visit from Kiryat Malachi Social Workers
Yaffa Cohen and Olly Zamir Davidovici, social workers from Kiryat Malachi, Seattle's Partnership 2000 region in Israel, visited with community members this week and shared with them what is happening in Israel, the impact the current situation is having on the social welfare system and how communities like Kiryat Malachi and Hof Ashkelon are striving to ensure that the social service needs of the communities poorest members continue to be met to the best of their ability.
In addition to meeting with community members, Yaffa and Olly spent time with professionals at Jewish Family Service, the Eastside Domestic Violence program, the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence and the National Council of Jewish Women Shalom Bayit project, since one of the key areas in which both women work is with women and children in distress and at risk.
