High School of Jewish Studies (aka: Hebrew High) |
The Community High School of Jewish Studies, a.k.a. “Hebrew High” is
a supplementary educational program on Wednesday evenings where Jewish
High School students can connect with Jewish friends, continue (or even
begin) their exploration of Jewish learning and culture and be a part
of a unique Jewish High School experience.
Our classes range from the classic to the contemporary, from serious
contemplation to lighthearted fun. Classes may be interactive, hands-on,
discussion-based, or revolve around texts, films, food, yoga or crafts.
Our program focuses on both traditional and more-unusual aspects of Judaic
Studies in addition to providing an opportunity to experience and explore
original and creative approaches to the history, culture, issues and
traditions that make us Jewish.
Our teaching staff is made up of dedicated and innovative educators, who represent a variety of perspectives, approaches and styles of teaching and Judaism. They are involved and enthusiastic members of the Jewish community and excellent role models.
I look forward to meeting those of you who are new students and getting to know those of you who are returning students even better as we begin another exciting year of learning together at Hebrew High. Please feel free to contact me with any comments or questions.
