Highlights from Graduation 5768
On June 4, 2008 we celebrated with 30 seniors and more than 150 supporters,
family members, friend and other Hebrew High classmates as the 34th Annual
graduating class of Seniors received their diplomas and certificates
at The Community High School of Jewish Studies graduation event. Click

SENIOR ESSAY CONTEST
Seniors participated in the annual Reynold (z”l) and Martha (z”l)
Atlas Torch of Learning Award. Reynold (z”l) and Martha (z”l)
Atlas left us with a legacy—an extraordinary commitment to Jewish
learning. Reynold was well known for his custom of posing a question
to a group of guests and challenging each person present to think about
the issues raised. We continue his tradition of learning through this
award, which follows the same format. The seniors are given a set of
questions and asked to write an essay on one of them. The essays demonstrate
the seniors’ sophistication as Jewish adults, their ability to
think critically and to synthesize their thoughts into an essay of significance.
While all the essays were compelling, anonymous judges helped to decide
the three that best met the outcomes of the award. Winners were awarded
with savings bonds and a certificate.
First Place: Jodi Schwartz
Second Place: Deborah Burstein
Third Place: Joel Azose
Honorable Mention: Lauren Cooper

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL, AMY HILZMAN-PAQUETTE
Mazel tov to all of you graduating seniors! You are now embarking on
the next phase of your life journey, the path into adulthood. I am
not alone when I say that I am excited and thrilled to see what lies
ahead
for all of you. You are beautiful, bright and brilliant and so are
each of your futures. Good luck and best wishes from myself and from
the staff
and faculty of Hebrew High and the Jewish Education Council.
I want to thank the incredible teachers that constantly inspire and
motive our students. These educators ensure that our students develop
into strong,
ethical and learned adults. Finally, thank you to the parents and families for making a commitment
to their child’s Jewish education through Hebrew High. It may only
be for four years but the effects will last a lifetime.
As for the rest of the students of Hebrew High, I look forward to seeing
all this September. Have a safe and wonderful summer.
