This free workshop is designed for lay leaders, staff and administration involved
in security at their Jewish institutions.
Mr.
Casuto leads the San Diego Region of the Anti-Defamation
League. In addition to serving on the San Diego Regional
Law Enforcement Public Safety Academy, he is an expert
in institutional security, former Director of Communal
Security Issues for the Anti-Defamation League and
a wise and entertaining speaker.
Morris will present the ins and outs of institutional
safety and security for this
special time of year.

Rescuing Jews from War-torn
Georgia
Jewish
Agency rescues and evacuates 200 Jews from war-torn
Georgia. Many plan to immigrate to Israel.
These men,
women and families in
the city of Gori, adjacent to the war-torn region
of
South Ossetia, have been evacuated to safety
in the Georgian capital.
Since the outbreak of the crisis, the Jewish Agency,
with its shaliach (emissary) and staff in Tbilisi,
has been working to bring Jews to safety from the
areas of combat and is expediting the process of

Earlier this year, Jewish groups
were surprised to learn a local citizens group
had filed paperwork for an initiative that would
require divestment of Seattle employee retirement
funds from companies that support Israeli activities
in places like the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights
and East Jerusalem.
The initiative should be of concern
to all citizens because, not only does it throw
Seattle’s support against an important ally,
Israel, it holds City pensions hostage to a questionable
