The Planning and Allocations Committee is charged with studying the
needs of the Jewish community in the areas of health, welfare, Jewish
education, and all other areas of interest to the community. To do
so it will assess community needs and review how existing agencies
and services are meeting these needs; explore and determine unmet needs,
both short-term and long-range, and make recommendations as to how
these should be met by existing agencies or by new programs. The Planning
and Allocations Committee will also review the budgets of existing
programs, evaluate their cost and effectiveness relationships and determine
the social impact of proposed expansion or contraction of existing
programs or services, and recommend the establishment of new programs
deemed to be in the communal interest.
